The Cabrillo College softball team saw its season come to a close Sunday after the visiting Sacramento City swept a doubleheader to win the best-of-three, CCCA NorCal Regional Playoffs first-round series.
Cabrillo College's softball team knocked off Hartnell in nine innings March 18 and the Panthers didn't forget. They avenged that loss with a 4-1 win over the host Seahawks on Thursday in the teams' all-important Coast Conference game.
Shortstop Dillyn Vasconcellos and third baseman Kasydi Bennett each had four hits, and the Cabrillo College softball team totaled 22 in its 15-3 rout of host Chabot in Coast Conference action Tuesday.
Former Cabrillo College volleyball standout-turned-coach Kelsee Montagna was named women's volleyball coach at NCAA Division II Fresno Pacific University on Thursday.
