研究：流感和RSV病例数在COVID-19大流行期间显著下降

PCR检测采用鼻咽拭子样本检测甲型和乙型流感、RSV和SARS-COV-2。咽拭子样本用于A组链球菌(GAS)的PCR检测，A组链球菌是一种细菌性喉部感染，通常发生在病毒性上呼吸道感染之后。
另外，研究人员还审查了其他呼吸道病毒感染的数据。
对于儿童，在2019-2020年流感季，12.4%的A型流感、20.2%的B型流感和23.7%的RSV检测呈阳性。在2020-2021年季节，这些数值都为0%。
化验气体的次数跟前一年相比大幅减少。在2019-20年期间，在成人中进行了约933例GAS检测（其中22.8%为阳性），而一年后进行的只有212例（23.11%为阳性）。在儿童中，这一数字从3984例（其中27%为阳性）下降到777例（20.98%为阳性）。
