A 12-year-old boy has been injured in a crash between a car and a pedestrian outside Tauranga Intermediate School this afternoon.
Emergency services were alerted to a serious crash involving a car and a pedestrian in Tauranga on Fraser St about 3.10pm, police said in a statement.
Fraser St between 18th Ave and Brook St was closed for several hours following the incident but the road has since reopened.

A man in his 40s has died following a water incident at Ōhope Beach today, police say.
Emergency services were called to the incident around 1.25pm.
The man was pulled from the water and members of the public provided first aid, but sadly the man died at the scene.
The death will be referred to the Coroner.

Today s incident is the second water incident in the district in as many days.

A man who attempted to resuscitate a fellow surfer at Ōhope Beach says the surfer died doing what he loved.
A man in his 40s died following a water incident at Ōhope Beach yesterday, police said.
Emergency services were called to the incident at West End about 1.25pm. The man was pulled from the water and members of the public provided first aid, but the man died at the scene.
Beach Life surf instructor Ross Anderson was running a lesson with a local school when he saw the man go down.
