On Thursday, a two-day statewide bank strike began throughout India in protest of the federal government s decision to privatise two public sector banks.
The employees of several public sector banks, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and Bank of Baroda, are on a two-day strike to protest the proposed privatisation of the state-run lenders.
Nearly nine lakh employees and officers from various public sector banks (PSBs), old generation private sector banks and regional rural banks will participate in the strike.
