hello. we start in sudan where a ceasefire is just about holding. hundreds of foreign nationals are being evacuated. the ministry of defence in london released these images from a royal air force air base in cyprus of british soldiers preparing to fly to khartoum. these picture from khartoum, we are getting reports of gun fire being heard. but the sudanese army said it would respect the ceasefire. thousands have already left the country on flights and on boats or by road. the un said it is bracing up by road. the un said it is bracing up for 270,000 people to flee to neighbouring chad to the west and south sudan. at least five aid workers have been killed since the fighting broke out. here is our diplomatic correspondent, james landale. these are the first images of the evacuation beginning, british forces gathering in cyprus, ready to fly out to sudan. planes that will luck may return full of british nationals who have been trapped by the fighting for days. this was khartoum
