MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday reported a total of 30,552 new Covid-19 infections and 41,471 new recoveries. Active cases increased to 280,619 while total recoveries jumped to 3,053,499, or 90.1 percent of the 3,387,524 infections since the pandemic started in March 2020. Of the total active cases, the DOH said 8,591 are asymptomatic, 267,236 have mild symptoms, 2,996 are moderate, 1,491 are severe, and 305 are critical. "Of the 30,552 reported cases today (Saturday), 28,926 (95 percent) occurred within the recent 14 days Jan. 9, 2021 to Jan. 22, 2022," the DOH stated.
