The South Korean government unveiled a draft version of new social distancing guidelines on Friday, focusing on sustainable distancing in ways that everyone can adhere to. Under the current guidelines, there are five different levels, but the proposal would reduce that to four. The level to be applied would be based on how many cases are confirmed every week per 100-thousand people. Level 1 is for when there are fewer than zero.7 cases. Level 2 for more than zero.7 cases, and level 3 more than 1.5 cases. Level 4, the strictest, is for when there are more than 3. ....
Senior UN diplomats are calling for strong action against Myanmar s military rulers, including the urgent implementation of a global arms embargo and economic sanctions. In a new report, Tom Andrews, Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, stated that the UN Security Council should considering such actions, condemning the military s seizure of power. The UN Secretary General s Special Envoy to Myanmar also raised the alarm over a brutal and dramatic escalation of violence targeting anti-coup protesters.
