Ex-Houston police officer accused of assault in bogus vote fraud claim

HOUSTON A former Houston police captain was charged with assault on Tuesday after running a man off the road and holding him at gunpoint in an effort to prove what authorities have called a bogus voter fraud scheme.
Mark Aguirre claimed that an air conditioner repairman was the mastermind of a giant voter fraud scheme. Aguirre said the man s truck was filled with fraudulent ballots when he ran his SUV into it on Oct. 19, according to authorities.
The defendant stated (the driver) has approximately seven hundred and fifty thousand fraudulent mail ballots and is using Hispanic children to sign the ballots because the children s fingerprints would not appear in any databases, according to an arrest affidavit. ....

That s because on Tuesday, former Houston Police Department Captain Mark Aguirre was arrested and charged for running Zuniga off the road and pointing a gun at his head in an attempt to prove claims of a massive voter fraud scheme in Harris County.

Mark Anthony Aguirre, 63, was arrested by Houston police Tuesday and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
He crossed the line from dirty politics to commission of a violent crime, and we are lucky no one was killed, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. His alleged investigation was backward from the start - first alleging a crime had occurred and then trying to prove it happened. ....

HOUSTON - A former Houston police captain has been arrested after running a man off a road and holding him at gunpoint to prove a bogus voter fraud conspiracy.
Mark Anthony Aguirre was arrested by Houston Police on Tuesday and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
The Harris County District Attorney s office says Aguirre, 63, went to authorities with pre-election claims that a massive voter fraud scheme was underway in Harris County.
According to a court document, the former captain told police shortly after the Oct. 19 incident, that he was part of a group of private citizens called, “Liberty Center,” who were conducting a civilian investigation into the alleged ballot scheme. ....
