Nevada receives rules for spending coronavirus funding

Nevada Appeal Gov. Steve Sisolak said Monday the state has received the federal guidance for how Nevada can spend the American Rescue Plan funding. He said the latest figures show that Nevada will receive $2.7 billion in direct state aid along with billions more flowing directly to local governments and 90 specific programs. “This will be one of the largest infusions of federal dollars into Nevada in history,” he said. Sisolak said it is critical the state take the time to analyze the more than 150 pages of guidance, “so we can ensure these funds are spent in accordance with eligibility guidelines and in the most effective manner for Nevada residents.”

Nevada Governor Pushes Expanded State Infrastructure Bank

Associated Press CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak wants lawmakers to fund a state infrastructure bank that could be used to help build new roads, public transportation systems or energy projects. Sisolak and Nevada Treasurer Zach Conine presented a proposal in the Legislature on Monday and argued the bank would allow Nevada to better handle the federal relief dollars passed by U.S. Congress. Sisolak said he expected projects that received loans from the infrastructure bank could create 16,000 construction jobs by the end of the year. Conine said the bank would supplement the proposed $75 million initial investment with federal relief dollars.
