Trost says he s lived up to promises on city council July 26, 2021 FacebookTwitterEmail Michael Trost is seeking another term on the Midland City Council. The at-large councilman will be part of the crowded race for two spots on Election Day, Nov. 2. Midlanders will elect two representatives from the expected pool of candidates to serve at-large (or citywide). Also, on the ballot are seats in District 1 (generally north Midland) and District 2 (generally east and south Midland). Trost earned the second at-large spot in 2018, collecting 30 percent of the vote to finish behind Spencer Robnett, but in Midland the top-2 vote-getters claim spots on the seven-person council. Trost in a statement to the Reporter-Telegram quoted former President George W. Bush about why he deserves another term this time around.
