Although it continues to report the worst COVID-19 surge in the nation, Michigan’s daily case average has dropped 60% since it surpassed 7,000 in mid-April, and it’s also seeing declines in hospitalizations and positive test rates. Health officials are largely pointing to vaccinations as the biggest factor associated with flattening the curve.
