PSU hosts free COVID-19 vaccinations on campus May 12–13 share On May 7, Portland State announced a free on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinic taking place on Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13, located at the Smith Memorial Student Union Ballroom from 9 a.m.–5 p.m., according to the press release. “First doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be available by appointment,” the announcement stated. “Those who receive the vaccine will be automatically sent a link to register for their second dose, the week of May 31.” PSU’s President Stephen Percy announced on May 5 all students, faculty and staff who are returning to in-person learning in the fall are required to have a COVID-19 vaccination. ....
Oregon State, Portland State to require COVID-19 vaccines May 5, 2021 GMT CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) Oregon State University has announced that it will require COVID-19 vaccinations before the fall term. The university in Corvallis said Tuesday students and employees who study and work onsite at the university’s locations must be vaccinated. “As we advance our plans to resume traditional on-site and in-person activities for the 2021-22 academic year, high rates of vaccination among our students, faculty and staff are needed to help improve the safety and well-being of our community,” Interim President Becky Johnson said in a statement. OSU’s vaccination requirement plans were informed by state and federal guidance related to vaccines, advice from public health experts, and guidance from other organizations, such as the American College Health Association, the statement said. ....
PSU requires COVID-19 vaccine for fall term share In a campus-wide message on May 5, Portland State University’s President Stephen Percy notified the campus community that all students, staff and faculty returning to in-person learning for fall term are required to have a COVID-19 vaccine. “Starting fall term 2021, the COVID-19 vaccine will be required for in-person students, faculty and staff unless they claim a medical or religious exemption,” Percy stated. “Until the Food and Drug Administration has fully approved at least one vaccine, a personal exemption is available.” PSU joined Oregon State University as the only other public university to announce a COVID-19 vaccine requirement. OSU was the first, and made their requirement known Tuesday. ....
