Article content In mid-March, Ottawa lost an accomplished and prodigiously published University of Ottawa software engineer, a globe-trotting tenor saxophonist who enlivened jam sessions since the 1970s, an esoteric accordionist and a veteran CKCU-FM radio-show host with the most highly developed tastes in world music and avant-garde jazz. In other words, Bernard Stepien has passed away. He was 74, and was fighting prostate cancer.
