The Oersted Medal, which will be awarded at the 2021 AAPT Virtual Summer Meeting, recognizes Jackson’s outstanding, widespread, and lasting impact on the teaching of physics through her pioneering national leadership in physics education, her exceptional service to AAPT, and her mentoring of students and in-service teachers. TRAGIC: Shirley-Ann Dumbuya MORE than £6,000 has been raised to help the family of a University of Bolton nursing student who died in a horror crash on the M60 last week. Mum-of-four Shirley-Ann Dumbuya was driving her Kia Ceed car near junction 20 of the motorway just before 8.45am last Thursday when she was involved in a collision with a lorry. Emergency services were called but Shirley Ann, 38, from Moston, died at the scene. Following her death, tributes to her flooded in.
