Gabbard actually proposed a bill entitled H.R. 823 meant to protect babies who survived abortion by receiving ample care instead of being left to die. The bill is designed to amend the United States Code Title 18 and is already referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary. The Christian Headlines reported that she received harsh criticism for the legislation. One of these critics is The Guardian writer Jill Nicole Filipovic. Tulsi Gabbard also introduced a redundant bill that claims to protect infants in the infinitesimally rare cases they are born after attempted abortions (infants are already legally protected) but in fact just criminalizes doctors, vilifies women, and fear-mongers about abortion, said Filipovic in her Twitter account last December 11, 2020. ....

Hudson Reporter Dear Editor: On December 10, 2019, Jersey City changed. One year ago, on that horrific day, Jersey City was introduced to the grim realities of violence and hatred. On that tragic December day, two armed assailants, David Nathaniel Anderson and his girlfriend Francine Graham, indoctrinated with the infamous rhetoric of bigotry and anti-Semitism, participated in the slaying of Jersey City Police Detective Joseph Seals, Mindy Ferencz, Douglas Miguel Rodriguez, and Moshe Deutsch. After killing Detective Seals at the Bayview Cemetery, the two fiends made a “last stand” at a Kosher supermarket on Martin Luther King Drive. Once there, they murdered the store owner, Mindy Ferencz; an employee, Douglas Rodriguez; and a rabbinical student, Moshe Deutsch. Anderson and Graham met their fates after an exchange of gunfire with police authorities. Exactly one year after four people were killed in a shootout at a kosher grocery in Jersey City, gunfire rang out less than two blocks from that tragic scene, leaving one man dead and another hurt. The shots were fired on Martin Luther King Drive, just down from where a memorial service and a vigil remembering those victims, which included a police officer, were held. Coinciding with the first night of Hanukkah, a candle was lit in the memory of the four lives lost. It s been one year since four people were killed in a shooting in Jersey City.
