ACI EUROPE welcomes and fully supports the global airport industry’s commitment to reach net zero carbon emissions by 2050, launched today by ACI World and all ACI Regions - ACIAfrica, ACI Asia Pacific, ACI EUROPE, ACILatin America & Caribbean and ACI North America1.
Today’s announcement builds on and complements the commitment of Europe’s airports to net zero carbon emissions by 2050 at the latest, which ACI EUROPE federated and launched in June 20192. This commitment has since then been undersigned by 238 European airports3, which individually commit to the same goal. The latest airport operators joining the commitment are Brussels South Charleroi Airport in Belgium, IGA Istanbul Airport in Turkey and Prague Airport in the Czech Republic. ....

Dubai Airports recently completed an 18-month long project under which more than 152,000 conventional lights in locations across Dubai International s (DXB) terminals were replaced with energy-saving LED light fixtures.
The move comes in the lead up to World Environment Day on June 5.
The project is estimated to help the world s busiest international airport save a whopping 52 million kilowatt hours of energy annually – enough electricity to power 7,000 average homes for one year.
DXB and Dubai World Central (DWC) achieved Level 3 of the Airports Council International s (ACI) Airport Carbon Accreditation programme in 2019 and operator Dubai Airports is an active supporter of the UAE National Agenda 2021 s sustainable environment goals, as well as the International Civil Aviation Organisation s (ICAO) global strategy to deal with climate change. – ....

Milas-Bodrum becomes Airport Carbon Accredited

The gateway to the Turkish Riviera, Milas-Bodrum Airport obtained Level 1 ‘Mapping’ certification. It’s the sixth airport in TAV’s portfolio to receive Airport Carbon Accreditation certification, the only institutionally-endorsed, global carbon management programme for airports.
TAV Milas-Bodrum GM Iclal Kayaoglu said “Minimizing the effects of our operations on the environment is a core ambition for us at TAV. We believe that contributing to efforts to counter climate change is our responsibility to future generations. Joining Airport Carbon Accreditation is a significant step in the right direction for Milas-Bodrum Airport, as the programme provides a solid framework to optimize and eventually eliminate emissions. Our aim is to become carbon neutral by 2030 at the latest.” ....
