If you’re traveling to Ward’s Supermarket and rounding the corner on Northwest Sixth Street onto Northwest 23rd Avenue, it’s hard to miss the red, white and blue-decorated National Vacuum store, which always has two shining red and blue 1959 Cadillacs out front. Another thing that’s hard to miss the ever-changing marquee sign, often filled with dad jokes, posted outside the shop. A recent one read: “Has anyone tried unplugging the USA and plugging it back in?” The man behind the signs is Bob deRochemont, the owner at National Vacuum, 2225 NW Sixth St.
