2020: A year of coming together

While 2020 will always be remembered as the year of the pandemic, it’s also the year residents of northern Rhode Island came together in an unprecedented show of support for their neighbors and friends. Much of this kindness was directed at healthcare workers, first responders and others who faced seemingly insurmountable challenges as the pandemic took hold. From drive-in graduations to socially distanced parades, here are some of our favorite ways the community came together in 2020. ....

NSHS senior creates display for COVID-19 patients

NORTH SMITHFIELD – The holidays will look a little brighter at St. Antoine Residence thanks to the efforts of one North Smithfield High School student.
Noah Gremour created a festive Christmas display on the grounds of the local nursing home for his senior project. With the help of volunteers and staff, he set up the decorations outside the wing dedicated for COVID-19 patients because that’s where “they needed it most.” ....
