Farmers market loses founding member Back to video Wayne Chalmers, vice-chairman of the market’s board and co-owner and operator of Spring Hill Farms of Trout Creek, died on Jan. 13 at age 61. “As one of the founding members, Wayne has been a respected vendor and board member of the farmers’ market for the past 20 years,” chairman Mitch Deschatelets was quoted in a media release Tuesday. “Wayne was a pillar in the market and a mentor to those farmers and artisans starting out. His wisdom and calm demeanour will be missed.” ....

But Saturday they were forced outside after the province extended the lockdown for another two weeks in Northern Ontario to match the lockdown in southern Ontario. ....
