Tony J. Sanchez


    Mr. Sanchez was born to Antonio Geronimo and Lydia Sanchez on May 9, 1954.
    He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Parish and was a member of the San Juan de los Caballeros Council at Ohkay Owingeh, a fourth degree Knight at the Arroyo Seco Assembly, an associate member of St. John the Baptist St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of Local Union #16.
    Mr. Sanchez was a laborer foreman by trade and began his construction career with Saunders Construction, then transitioned to Davis & Associates. He worked construction over 45 years.
    After retiring, he worked as a security escort for Compa Industries, escorting visitors at Los Alamos National Laboratory. He retired from Compa Industries in 2009 to dedicate his time to his cattle and ranch operations. ....

LAHS Announces New Course On Life And Literature Of New Mexico

Is inquiry-based to help students develop an understanding of their place in the world.

Is interdisciplinary.
“While some of the courses offered at LAHS, like AP Human Geography, Native American Studies, and New Mexico History, explore the ideas of place, we offer no yearlong core courses at LAHS that utilize inquiry-based and place-based learning,” said Batha. “Students who enroll in this class will explore course materials that focus on the language and culture of New Mexico and the connections around the globe.”  ....

LAHS Introduces New Course Offering For 2021-2022
LAPS News:
With course selection opening for Los Alamos High School students, upcoming juniors and seniors will have another option to fulfill their English credit requirement toward graduation.
English teachers Margo Batha and Suzanne Montoya have partnered to teach Southwest Narratives: Life and Literature of New Mexico.

“Mrs. Montoya and I believe in the power of place-based learning and community-based education for our students,” Batha said. “We want to offer juniors and seniors at Los Alamos High School another choice for their English requirement that uses their experiences and our community in Northern New Mexico as part of their learning.” ....
