In a meeting with Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan on Friday, the envoy urged both countries to promote business linkages between their respective private sectors to explore all untapped areas of mutual cooperation. “Both countries should deepen cooperation in diverse areas including economy, agriculture, banking, healthcare, education, social and culture,” he said. ....

Daily Times July 4, 2021 Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) has urged the government to focus on gender inclusive policies and take strong measures to bring more women to workplaces in order to realize the actual economic potential of the country. The women were half of our total population and bringing them into the mainstream of the economy was very important to enhance their contribution in the economic development of the country, said Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, President, ICCI while addressing as chief guest at the District Convention of Women Workers Alliance. The event was organized in collaboration with Sustainable Social Development Organization, which was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary Ms. Ghazala Saifi, DG Health Hassan Orooj, Executive Director Sustainable Social Development Organization Syed Kausar Abbas, Clinical Psychologist Ms. Sobia Khateeb and ASP Investigation Ms. Ayesha. ....

Speaking at the District Convention of Women Workers Alliance organised in collaboration with Sustainable Social Development Organisation, the ICCI chief said that women were half of the total population and bringing them into the mainstream of the economy was very important to enhance their contribution in the economic development of the country. Khan added that as per World Bank’s 2019 report, women’s participation in Pakistani workforce was just 22% while it was over 55% in most of the well-developed countries. He highlighted that women participation in the labour force was 50% in Kuwait, 51% in Malays ....
