The Home Secretary will introduce the tough new measures to crack down on migrants crossing the Channel, while also making it easier to boot out foreign criminals from Britain.

AEA: Avionics Sales Soften, but Recovery Underway

Worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales in the first quarter fell 13.9 percent year-over-year, to about $568.8 million, according to the Aircraft Electronics Association’s (AEA) latest avionics market report. While that was down by almost $100 million from a year ago, AEA said this represented a marginal increase from the fourth quarter and marked the third consecutive quarter of increasing sales.
Of the first-quarter sales, 53.7 percent came from the retrofit market, while forward-fit sales avionics equipment installed by airframe manufacturers during production accounted for the remainder. Avionics Sales Report Shows Continued Increases in Revenue

In the first three months of 2021, worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales totaled $568,810,353, according to the Aircraft Electronics Association’s first-quarter 2021 Avionics Market Report. Though that’s a 13.9 percent decrease over the bumper first quarter of last year, it also represents a 1 percent increase over the last quarter of 2020, marking the third consecutive quarter of increasing revenues, industry-wide. That’s significant because last year’s ADS-B mandate provided an unusual boost to retrofit sales, and the fact that revenues continue to increase is noteworthy.
And while retrofit sales (avionics equipment installed after original production) had dominated the statistics as the fleet reequipped for ADS-B, the forward-fit segment (avionics equipment installed by airframe manufacturers during original production) also shone in Q1 of this year, up by 18.7 percent above the figure for Q1 2020.
