Chennai: The Election Commission of India has released the final electoral rolls, as per which the number of voters in Tamil Nadu stands at 6.26 crore. The EC published the final electoral rolls of the Special Summary Revision of Photo Electoral Rolls, 2021 with reference to January 1, 2021, as the qualifying date, on Wednesday.
When the summary revision of electoral rolls started on November 16, the voter population in the state was 6.10 crore.
As per the final electoral rolls submitted by Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo at the secretariat, there are more women voters than men. Have a look at the recent electoral data: ....

ID cards for third gender in Bhopal, a first in India | Bhopal News

BHOPAL: In a novel initiative, the Bhopal administration has started giving identity cards to persons from the third gender, so that they could also take benefits of the government’s welfare schemes.
After they get ID cards, persons from the third gender will be eligible for schemes run by the social justice department.
Joint director, social justice department, R P Singh, said that Bhopal is, perhaps, the first district in the country to be giving ID cards to persons from the third gender. It would not only give a distinct recognition to them, but also enable them take benefits of the government schemes and schemes especially meant for them could also be made at the government-level, he added. ....
