Updated: 5:15 PM EST Jan 21, 2021 People across Central Florida reported hearing loud booms on Thursday and officials in Seminole County say it’s the result of the Navy dropping bombs on the Ocala National Forest as part of its training. “Seminole County has received reports of ground shaking and loud noises in the area as a result of Pinecastle Range Complex Training,” Seminole County officials said on the county’s official Twitter account. The U.S. Navy is dropping live and inert bombs on the Ocala National Forest this week as part of a series of training exercises that will last through Sunday.The bombing at the Pinecastle Range Complex by military jets from the Naval Air Station Jacksonville began Friday morning, according to the NAS Jacksonville website.The range complex is about two miles west of the Camp Ocala campgrounds and near several hiking trails.The explosions and loud noises may push wildlife out of the forest and onto nearby roads. ....
