Hours of work went into restoring an M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier ahead of the Hastings Anzac parade on Sunday.
The APC was dedicated to the family of a New Zealand Armoured Corps officer after a chance encounter on social media.
When Mark Bixley was browsing a social media group, he knew he recognised the M113 Armoured Personnel vehicle in a picture which was shared.

Bixley – who served 12 and a half years in the New Zealand Army Territorials as driver and commander and trained in the M113A1 Armoured Personnel Carrier - had been working with Shaun Moloney to restore an M113 Armoured Personnel vehicle and was looking at making it a tribute to those who served in Vietnam. ....

The W140 was pretty controversial when it was introduced. It still is to date. There are those that love it and those that hate it. Many of the latter ones ended up buying poorly maintained versions. And then you run into massive problems.
The good news, parts availability is very good! But without somebody working on the car who really knows it inside out it is going to be a headache.
I know quite a few very happy W140 owners that manage too keep theirs going at a very reasonable cost, once all the initial problems have been solved. ....

LAHORE: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has written a letter to Asad Umar, Head of National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), requesting him to restore the priority registration of healthcare workers for vaccination.
Dr SM Qaisar Sajjad, Secretary General, PMA Centre, said that PMA is very much concerned over the rapid increase of coronavirus patients and the country has been reporting record number of coronavirus deaths these days. The situation is worsening day by day and the vaccination process is very slow in the country, he said.
In this alarming situation, the priority registration of doctors for vaccination has been suspended for one month which is very distressing for the medical fraternity. PMA also requested him to expedite the vaccination process by introducing walk-in facility through CNIC for all adults. ....

Moscow, Apr 3 (Prensa Latina) Russian tour operators are interested in restoring flights to the Varadero resort as soon as possible, said Juan Carlos Escalona, Tourism Councilor for the Cuban embassy in Russia.
The interest is tremendous, they are just waiting to be told which agencies will fly and when to start selling, the diplomat told Prensa Latina at the Cuba booth at the Intourmarket 2021 (ITM) fair, which concludes this Saturday in Moscow.
Organized by the Federal Tourism Agency of Russia, the event is attended by a large number of public, in addition to tour operators and representatives of travel agencies from all over the Eurasian nation and other countries. ....
