Some are A-listers, with a steady stream of clients and thousands of parishes named after them; some are more like cult favorites, with a kind of niche appeal and loyal devotees; and still others are rising stars, poised to reach a new generation of faithful. And then there’s St. Ansgar, who might be considered something of a “lesser-known artist.” He’s even overshadowed on his own feast day, which he shares with the much more famous St. Blaise. You won’t find Ansgar’s name on too many Catholic churches here in the United States, although there is one near Chicago. A town in northern Iowa is named for him, too. ....

Bio The Rev. Jonah and Elizabeth Burakowski serve the Lord as career missionaries through The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) in the Latin America and the Caribbean region, based in the Dominican Republic. As associate regional director, Jonah works closely with the regional director to develop and implement strategic plans for 22 countries in South and Central America, the Caribbean and Spain. He also supports the development of the region’s missionary team and serves as a theological educator and missionary pastor. Jonah was born in Southfield, Mich. His home congregation is Divine Savior Lutheran Church, Hartford, Wis. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Family Science and Human Sexuality from Central Michigan University, Mount Pleasant, Mich.; a master’s degree in Counseling and Higher Education Administration from Emporia State University, Emporia ....

Participants can pick up a food box at Galilee M.B. Church at 23001 County Road 14 in Florence, except for Thursday, February 11. On February 11, church members will be set up at Shoals Business Incubator Davis Complex at 4002 Helton Drive due to possible weather. ....
