GM s family of large SUVs has significantly improved braking distances in the new generation.
GM attributes the improvement to changes to the trucks suspensions and the composition of the stock tires.
The best of these large trucks now stop as short as plenty of sedans and smaller crossovers.
When a vehicle enters a new generation, we expect to see improvement. Usually the car has more power, performs better, and is more efficient despite being bigger and heavier. We appreciate the steady gains. But we can t plan a parade every time a car shaves a couple of seconds off its zero-to-60 mph time.
