LMFM By Simon Doyle A local councillor has called on the Chief Executive of Louth County Council to resign over failure to secure funding for the Drogheda Port Access/ Northern Cross Route. The project, which has been planned for 13 years, was overlooked in yesterday s announced Urban Regeneration and Redevelopment Fund. It s the third time it has been denied funding, while the Minister for Housing and Local Government Darragh O Brien said he will work with the council to identify improvements in their proposal for the next URDF. It lies in stark contrast with the €7.4 million awarded for redevelopment work at Bridge Street and Linenhall Street in Dundalk through the scheme. ....

Kate Brown wants to resurrect more than 30 projects costing more than $200 million that died last summer when the state bond market collapsed during business shutdowns ordered to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. Brown s 2021-23 budget proposal includes Oregon Lottery bonds set aside for projects in nearly every corner of the state. The projects include $5 million for the Beaverton Hoops YMCA program; $3.5 million to renovate Parrott Creek Child and Family Services in Oregon City; $2.33 million for a health center at Reynolds High School; $2 million for pedestrian connectors in Sherwood; $2 million for the Gradin Sports Park in Gresham; $2 million for the Hacienda CDC Las Adelitas Housing in Portland; and $1.5 million for the new Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in Beaverton. ....
