Cricket Australia (CA) has announced a jam-packed 2021/22 summer for its Men’s and Women’s sides, who are both locked in for Ashes campaigns.
Australia’s summer of cricket will commence with a series between its Women’s team and India, with the details of the Asian side’s tour still to be announced.
The Men’s team will then return to red-ball cricket in a one-off Test against Afghanistan at Hobart, where Tim Paine will captain the side in his home state of Tasmania for the first time. ....

London [UK], May 19 (ANI): The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA) have confirmed the Men s and Women s Ashes schedule for 2021-22 to be staged in Australia. The first Men s Ashes Test will begin at Brisbane s Gabba from December 8-12 ahead of a day-night Test at the Adelaide Oval from December 16-20. The traditional Boxing Day and New Year s Tests will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (December 26-30) and Sydney Cricket Ground (January 5-9) respectively, with the final Test scheduled for Perth s Optus Stadium (January 14-18), as per the ECB release. For the first time in 26 years, the final Ashes Test will not be staged in Sydney. The multi-format Women s Ashes series will begin at Manuka Oval, Canberra, with the Test match from January 27-30. Cricket Australia said they were hopeful of staging an Ashes series in front of full crowds later this year but stressed they would follow government advice when it came to admitting travelling supporters as the schedule for the England s men s and women s tours was released on Tuesday. In addition to the Ashes series, the Australian men s team will host Afghanistan for a Test for the first time ever before finishing with nine ODI and T20 matches against New Zealand and Sri Lanka, while the Australian women s team will host India at the start of the summer. Building on a fantastic summer of cricket just gone, we are absolutely thrilled to announce our women s and men s international fixtures for the 2021-22 summer of cricket, Hockley said in a release.
