After falling 21 points behind early in the second half, the Hettinger-Scranton squad rallied in the final minutes before losing to Glenburn by a narrow 59-55 score Saturday in the seventh-place game at the state girls basketball tournament in Minot. Samantha Oase, playing in her final prep basketball game for the Night Hawks, finished with 22 points and 21 rebounds for another doublle-double. She hit 11 of 20 in shooting, and was 0-for-2 from long range. Oase also had six steals. The Black Hills State University recruit was also the high scorer in the game. The Panthers scored first in the game, but Oase put the Night Hawks on the board and tied it for the only time as Glenburn went on to claim a 13-8 by the end of the quarter. ....

By Grant Klevgaard The No. 2 seed in the Girls State Class B tournament, Grafton Spoilers dominated the Glenburn Panthers 65-33 to advance to their second straight state Class B semifinal appearance. The Spoilers were led by senior Julia Dusek with 19 points with a trio of made 3 pointers. Grafton will now play the winner of the Kenmare – Wilton-Wing quarterfinal game. Highlights from Grafton vs Glenburn Quarterfinal Game In addition to Dusek’s impressive performance, Reagan Hanson and Cassie Erickson also scored in the double figures with 10 points each for Grafton. The Spoilers defense also had a strong presence in today’s game, as they only allowed Glenburn to score more than 10 points in one quarter. Grafton is now 23-2 on the season and will play again on March 5th at 6:30 PM in the Minot State University Dome. ....
