Maury County man charged with falsifying military record The Daily Herald A Maury County man has been sentenced to a year in jail for falsifying his own military service record including the conditions of his discharge in a case of Stolen Valor. Chris Wesley Williams, 59, appeared before Circuit Court Judge Stella Hargrove in Columbia on Tuesday where he received a maximum sentence of 11 months and 29 days in jail along with a consecutive maximum probation of 11 months and 29 days after making false claims on his military record with the United States Marines. “I hope this sends a message to anyone else out there that has lied about military service that it will not be tolerated in this district,” said Brent Cooper, the local district attorney whose office prosecuted the case. ....
