Wright Joins Dozzell in Having Option Exercised Tuesday, 5th May 2020 14:15 Town have taken the one-year option on keeper Harry Wright’s contract, in addition to taking the further season on Andre Dozzell’s deal, as revealed by TWTD earlier today. Wright, 21, the son of former Blue Richard, is yet to make a first-team appearance but has been on the bench for the senior side. The one-time Manchester City academy youngster, a regular in the U23s, has missed much of 2019/20 with a knee injury and might otherwise have appeared in the Leasing.com Trophy. The length of Wright’s contract has been the subject of some confusion due to an error made when it was announced that he had signed his terms in December 2018. ....
Town Take Up Option on Dozzell s Contract Tuesday, 5th May 2020 11:46 TWTD understands Town have taken up the one-year option on midfielder Andre Dozzell’s contract. Dozzell’s terms were up this summer but the deal he signed in May 2017 included an option for the club to keep him for a further season. The academy product, who turned 21 on Saturday, has been in and out of the side this season making 13 starts and two sub appearances. Last summer TWTD revealed that Norwich City had made a £3 million approach to the Blues for the England U20 international but were unwilling to meet Town’s asking price, understood to be £5 million. Talks regarding a new Blues contract subsequently took place but with no agreement reached. ....
EFL Still Aiming to Play Remaining Fixtures Friday, 1st May 2020 18:14 Chairman Rick Parry has written an open letter to clubs reiterating that the EFL remains determined to play the 2019/20 campaign to its conclusion and outlining progress towards this aim which has been made this week. The EFL has previously said it is targeting playing the remaining 113 games in its three divisions over 56 days behind closed doors with June 6th having been pencilled in a for a start. Players, who have been away from their clubs since fixtures were suspended on March 13th due to the coronavirus pandemic, are due to report back for the start of a mini-pre-season on May 16th. ....

Town Youngsters Exit Premier Cup Wednesday, 13th Mar 2019 22:58 Town s youngsters were dumped out of the Suffolk FA Premier Cup by Leiston after they were defeated 2-1 in their semi-final tie at Felixstowe & Walton United s Goldstar Ground on Wednesday evening. Tom Bullard gave the non-league side a half-time lead and although Thomas Hughes equalised for Town, sub Harrison Bacon sent Leiston through to the final with a stoppage-time winner. Adem Atay s side - an U18s team plus U23s Pat Webber, Ross Marshall and Conor McKendry - struggled to get into the game early on and Toby Egan made a couple of good early saves to deny former Blues youngster Kyle Hammond and then Matt Blake, before Matt Rutherford fired a loose ball across goal but wide of the far post in the fourth minute. ....
