NEW DELHI: In a relief for farmers, the government on Wednesday hiked the subsidy given on DAP fertilisers by 140%. The farmers will get di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilisers at Rs 1,200 per bag instead of Rs 2,400. The decision was taken during a high-level meeting on fertiliser prices chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was discussed that the price of fertilisers is undergoing an increase due to the rising prices of phosphoric acid, ammonia etc internationally. The PM stressed that farmers should get fertilisers at old rates despite the international rise in prices, a statement by the PMO said. It said that government took the decision despite the rise in international market prices of DAP. ....
NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be interacting with field officials from states and districts to converse about their experience in handling the Covid-19 pandemic on Tuesday at 11 am. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister s Office (PMO), officials from Karnataka, Bihar, Assam, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi will take part in the meeting. Through their interaction with the Prime Minister, the officials will share some best practices, in addition to suggestions and recommendations for continuing our ongoing battle against Covid-19, especially in semi-urban and rural areas, the statement said.
