Pine River-Backus School District staff will begin getting shots Thursday, Feb. 4, and Pequot Lakes School District staff benefited from extra vaccines for 116 shots that were administered Thursday, Jan. 21. “Around the 11th of January, we were notified about a statewide effort, pushed by the Department of Health, to start vaccinating teachers on a pilot so they could work out the mechanics of it,” Pequot Lakes Superintendent Chris Lindholm said. “In that effort, we found out on Monday (Jan. 18) that each district was allocated to just a handful of vaccinations.
