Updated: 2:38 PM EDT May 22, 2021 A graduating student at a Massachusetts college received a big surprise during her commencement.Emily Booth, who received a bachelor s degree in nursing from Endicott College, was reunited with her brother, U.S. Marine Private First Class Ryan Booth, for the first time in about a year.Until now, Private Booth was unable to return home or see family due to COVID-19 restrictions since he left for boot camp in the summer of 2020.Before she was handed her diploma from Endicott s president, Dr. Steven DiSalvo, the emcee revealed that Private Booth would help present it to Emily.Overcome with emotion, Emily Booth hugged her brother and appeared shocked to see him.The siblings parents, Dawn and Jeffrey Booth, were also in attendance for Saturday morning s commencement ceremony at Hempstead Stadium in Beverly.Emily Booth, who is from Stratford, Connecticut, completed clinicals at Beverly Hospital, Holy Family Hospital, Boston Medical Center ....
