Author Lee Child knows a thing or two about thrillers. He has published 25 of them, featuring Jack Reacher, which have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide.
So when he says The Day Of The Jackal is a year-zero, game-changing thriller, one of the most significant of all time you listen.
It is 50 years since the book by Frederick Forsyth was published but, in a new introduction to a special anniversary edition, Child says it still feels luminously fresh and new .

The three primary Crackle Plus networks, Crackle, Popcornflix, and Chicken Soup for the Soul, are rolling out to new distribution touch points on up to 41 platforms on an ongoing basis as either AVOD or FAST channels. While June was a month of transition for the movie industry, July marks the first time in more than a year that theatrical releases have truly returned to full strength. In all, 14 titles will receive a wide release in the U.S. this month, giving audiences a choice between superheroes (“Black Widow”), cartoons (“Space Jam: A New Legacy”), documentaries (“Summer of Soul”), and Matt Damon (“Stillwater”).
That being said, many summer movies are being released using a hybrid theatrical/streaming model, including several of the titles mentioned above. All told, July looks like another great month for streaming, as Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon Prime will offer plenty of new releases. ....
