New townhomes proposed for Castle Hayne in New Hanover

Townhomes could soon be coming to an vacant lot in Castle Hayne.
A proposed development would bring 50 attached townhomes to 3001 Blueclay Road, a more than 8.5 acre piece of land bordered by single family homes and an industrial area.
The New Hanover County Planning Board will hold a public hearing Thursday on a rezoning request required to accommodate the proposed townhomes.
Cindee Wolf, the owner of Design Solutions, submitted an application to change the lot’s zoning from R-20 residential district to a conditional zoning district designation. Wolf is representing the parcel s owner, TF Holdings, Limited Partnership, according to the application. ....

A redevelopment of a county-owned block in downtown Wilmington could be on its way to becoming a reality as county officials and the developer continue to work on a potential agreement.
Referred to as Project Grace, the transformation of the property bordered by Grace, Third, Chestnut and Second streets could include a new library, Cape Fear Museum, city of Wilmington offices and apartments, according to New Hanover County Board of Commissioners agenda documents. ....

Taking advantage of falling interest rates, New Hanover County revises financing for new government center

NEW HANOVER COUNTY – As interest rates for county borrowings continue to decline, New Hanover is looking to finance its new government center through public debt rather than leasing the future building from the developer as it originally agreed to.
In June the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners approved a development agreement with Wilmington-based
Cape Fear FD Stonewater, LLC for the project. In that contract, the county agreed to lease the constructed facility from the developer. ....

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - The New Hanover County Board of Commissioners is considering a revised development agreement for its Government Center redevelopment project.
The planned redevelopment will include “a newly-designed facility for county offices, including an expanded Emergency Operations and 911 Center, as well as mixed-use commercial and residential, with affordable housing, greenspace, and increased tax revenue for the county and city,” according to county officials. ....
