At a glance:
¯ Waterford, Beverly and Belpre students were impacted by bomb threats to the Wolf Creek Local, Fort Frye Local and Belpre City school districts Monday.
¯ The threats were delivered via the same voice over internet protocol number as last week’s threats to Wolf Creek Local Schools.
¯ Early dismissal impacted elementary and high school buildings for each district.
¯ All three school districts threatened Monday confirmed increased security will be in place in the districts today and Wednesday. ....

Matamoras Minute: The Leap Year Flood | News, Sports, Jobs

There was a lull in devastating floods in Matamoras for a period of about 20 years after the major flood of 1913. The town commemorated the highest water it had ever experienced with a high water plaque attached to the steps of the Cline & Son store on Main Street. The plate is embedded in the concrete to this day.
Then came the flood of 1936. It occurred in February and, until December of the following year, there would be five floods that covered the bottom lands, caused property damage, and closed State Route 7 above and below town. Matamoras reverted to its “island” status once more. ....

¯ A deputy took a report Monday that Travis E. Williams violated a temporary protection order. The order was issued March 2 and Alvin Biehl was the protected party. The violation occurred on April 24 while he was at work. Biehl received a call from a phone number of someone known to him. Williams communicated with that individual and had utilized their phone. A warrant was requested for Travis E. Williams, 24, of 53287 State Route 681, Reedsville, and issued on a charge of violating a protection order.

The following individuals were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:
¯ Jesse Ryan Shafer, 36, of Marietta, was arrested for receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor; and contempt of court, and breach of recognizance, both felonies. ....
