New Delhi, Feb 18 (IANS) Homegrown Twitter-like platform Koo has garnered over 10 lakh new users in just one week, surpassing the 40 lakh-figure in nearly 10 months of its arrival, as Twitter was caught in crosshairs with the Indian government over its direction to remove nearly 1,400 controversial accounts.

So how are things going in China and Taiwan these days? Swimmingly, if you only get your news from social media. To look at the blogs and microblogging sites where people discuss political or military news, everything is coming up roses. Of course, that’s because the Chinese Communist Party has further cracked down on any and all forms of online dissent. Under the recently announced rules, nobody is being allowed to comment on any of these matters unless they have a government-approved credential to do so. I doubt you’ll need to strain your imagination very much to figure out who will be getting those credentials and what sorts of opinions they will be sharing. (Associated Press) ....

Amanda Dishaw, editor-in-chief of Meghan s Mirror, said it started as a hobby but became a six-figure business.
For Danielle Magness-Wellmann, 41, dressing like members of the British royal family isn t just a pipe dream it s an expensive and time-consuming hobby.
Wellmann, whose Instagram account has over 5,000 followers, estimated that she s spent about $30,000 over eight years buying regal outfits identical or similar to those of royals like Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, and Queen Letizia of Spain.  ....
