APRIL, 2020 April was a month where everyone simply started learning how to live with COVID-19. In early April, glass windows were installed at the counters on the main floor of the York County Courthouse, to allow workers and the public to see one another talk with one another during business interactions â while also providing a safety barrier between them. Meanwhile, Plexiglass barriers were being installed at most if not all businesses in town as a way to protect workers and patrons. Workers from Kingâs Glass installed glass windows at the counters of the clerk, assessor and treasurer offices in the courthouse. ....

JANUARY, 2020 The drone mystery It was 10 p.m., on Jan. 6, when YNT staffer Eric Eckert went out to observe the skies after receiving many calls from individuals in the area regarding patterns of mysterious drones flying over the area. There had been reports in western Nebraska the week before, of the same, and it looked like the drones â whoever they belonged to â had finally arrived here. Eckert is the digital director for the YNT â and somewhat of an expert in drones, videography and photography. ....

By Dave Sjuts Garold Leggott says itâs kind of hard to think about, the fact that he will be stepping away from a banking career that spanned a lot of years and two different stints in York. âItâs hard to believe that Iâm doing this,â said Leggott who plans on retiring here at the end of December. He had already stepped down as President of York State Bank back on April 1, when Mark Way assumed the position. Leggott had stayed on as Chairman of the Board through the balance of 2020 but he has decided itâs time. ....
