Dawn/File KARACHI: A sessions’ court has acquitted alleged Lyari gang warfare kingpin Uzair Baloch in two more cases for “lack of evidence” against him. Baloch, chief of the defunct Peoples Amn Committee, was exonerated of the charges of attacking policemen in the violence-torn Lyari neighbourhood during a crackdown against gangsters in 2012. Additional District and Sessions’ Judge (South) Faraz Ahmed Chandio recently pronounced his verdict. Police had nominated Habib Jan Baloch, Wasiullah Lakho, Umar Kachhi and Sharfuddin as suspects in the case and showed M. Kashif and Faisal Mehmood as absconders. ....
Lyari gang war commander Naseer Baloch shot dead, say police July 5, 2021 KARACHI: A local commander of the Lyari gang war was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Saturday night, confirmed police. The incident took place near Dubai Chowk within the limits of the Baghdadi police station, said police, adding that 25-year-old Naseer Baloch was the commander of Lyari s Dubai Chowk area and was associated with the Baba Ladla Group. Police and medical staff arrived at the site on Saturday night and shifted the body of the alleged gangster to the Civil Hospital. Baloch was allegedly involved in various cases of crime, including murder, attempt to murder, extortion and kidnapping. He had been recently released on bail by an anti-terrorism court. ....
KARACHI: Armed robbers shot dead a young man on main Rashid Minhas Road on Sunday, police said. A Federal B Industrial Area police officer said that Waqar, 35, was on his way to Gulistan-i-Jauhar on a Bykea ride from his residence in Orangi Town when a tyre of the motorcycle got punctured near Lucky One. In the meantime, four muggers riding two motorcycles emerged there and tried to snatch their mobile phones and Waqar tried to run away. The muggers fired at him and a bullet hit him in the leg. He was taken to a private hospital where he died due to excessive bleeding, said the officer. ....
Gang war commander shot dead in Lyari July 4, 2021 An alleged local commander of the Lyari gang war was shot dead by unknown assailants in the Lyari neighbourhood on Saturday. According to police, the incident took place near Dubai Chowk within the limits of the Baghdadi police station. After getting information, police and rescuers reached the crime scene and transported the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi where was identified as 25-year-old Naseer Baloch, son of Javed Baloch. Police said that the gangster was associated with the Baba Ladla group and was the commander of the Dubai Chowk area of Lyari. ....
