MyBayar Saman - 291,157 summonses paid, RM32 mil collected in first week of online portal/app s operation

That seems to be the take following the performance of the MyBayar Saman online portal and smartphone application in its first week of operation. The online system, which allows summonses to be paid directly in virtual fashion, was launched on March 25 by inspector-general of police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador. By March 31, almost RM32 million in summons payments from 291,157 summonses had been collected through the application, according to Bukit Aman traffic investigation and enforcement department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias.

New K-9 unit to sniff out crime

LANGKAWI: The newly established K-9 unit here will further strengthen the police force’s crime prevention efforts at the popular tourist destination, says Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador. The Inspector-General of Police said he was confident several cases could be solved very soon and that the police would succeed in fighting crimes with the services of the five “detective dogs”. “We saw the need to set up this unit to support the police force here as Langkawi attracts travellers from all over the world, ” he told reporters after launching the K-9 unit under the Langkawi CID technical assistance division yesterday.

LANGKAWI: Controversial cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat, who is on the run from police and religious authorities, should come out of hiding and appear in the Syariah High Court, says Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador. The Inspector-General of Police said Nur Sajat s apparent decision to flee the country was odd as she was not facing a serious charge in court. So far, Abdul Hamid said the police had not received any news on the location of the entrepreneur, whose real name is Muhammad Sajjad Kamaruzzaman. Abdul Hamid said that the police had previously succeeded in locating Nur Sajat but could not apprehend her due to challenges such as the existence of hidden passages to cross the country s borders.
