No One Left Behind: More Support For Victorians In Need

The Victorian Government is making sure no Victorian is left behind, providing a dedicated boost to hardship payments and emergency food relief for our state’s most vulnerable.
The Government today announced an additional $30 million package to ensure this critical help – including food and financial support – is made available to communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
More support will be delivered to Victorians struggling to put a meal on the table with a $4.5 million boost to expand the capacity of community food relief organisations – building on the more than $31 million of additional relief delivered since February 2020.
This includes supporting new partnerships between food relief organisations and local restaurants, cafes and hospitality businesses – enabling them to rapidly purchase raw produce and prepared meals for Victorians in need. Backing Multicultural Community Infrastructure

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting multicultural communities to celebrate and build strength through shared culture with a new round of grants under the Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund.
More than 40 projects will share in $5.75 million to help community organisations remain connected to their traditions and culture by increasing the safety, accessibility and condition of existing community facilities.
On Tuesday, Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ros Spence today visited the East Melbourne Hebrew Congregation to announce $500,000 to improve safety and accessibility, ensuring it remains a welcoming and inclusive hub for cultural and religious activities.
Other successful projects in this latest round of funding include upgrades to the Ballarat Welcome Centre to enhance community access and multicultural participation, and the construction of a Multi-Purpose Community Centre at the St George Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church in Heathe ....

More Support For COVIDSafe Multicultural Festivals And Events

The Andrews Labor Government is providing more support to help multicultural and multifaith communities to celebrate, share and preserve their culture and traditions.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Ros Spence today announced grants of up to $50,000 through the
Multicultural Festivals and Events Program to help local organisations host COVIDSafe events – both face-to-face and digital.
The Program recognises the important role community connection and celebration play in all communities, and enables Victorians to celebrate the diversity and multiculturalism that makes us strong.
With the celebration of Harmony Day this Sunday 21 March, and Cultural Diversity Week taking place from 21-28 March, it’s the perfect time for organisations to apply for activities that celebrate the diversity in our State. ....
