PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): The supply of fresh chicken is guaranteed to be sufficient until after the Aidilfitri celebration, says Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister said that his ministry had held discussions with several large-scale poultry producers, and they had given the ministry assurances of adequate supply.
After consultation with several large-scale poultry producers, they have assured us of sufficient chicken supply until after Aidilfitri, ” he told reporters after inspecting the implementation of the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP), during the month of Ramadan, on Thursday (April 22). ....

PUTRAJAYA: The supply of fresh chicken is guaranteed to be sufficient until after the Aidilfitri celebration, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He said that his ministry had held discussions with several large-scale poultry producers, and they had given assurance of adequate supply.
“After consultation with several large-scale poultry producers, they have assured sufficient chicken supply until after Aidilfitri,” he told reporters after inspecting the implementation of the Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP), during the month of Ramadan, today.
On complaints by disappointed traders over the fixed retail price of RM7.90 for a standard chicken under the SHMMP, Nanta said that his ministry had sought consultations from various parties before setting the price. ....

KUALA LUMPUR – The supply of chicken for the local market is guaranteed to be sufficient and there is no need for the government to issue approved permits (APs) for the item, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi.
He said his ministry is regularly holding engagement sessions with chicken farmers throughout the country to ensure an adequate supply of poultry.

“The statement made by my deputy Datuk Rosol Wahid is that if there be a need for the government to issue APs for imported chicken to meet local demand but for now it is not necessary,” he said in a press conference after officiating the Riang Riuh Raya and Malaysian Marketplace programme at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, here, Apr 20. ....
