My first and (so far) only T&P recording. I was prepared for Patti Cathcart s wonderful voice from the songs that had received radio play, but I was suprised by the swing and technical virtuosity of Tuck Andress guitar.Even though it s just a guitar and a voice, none of the songs here should feel cheated due to a lack of artistic attention. There s a wide range of material (Gershwin/Santana/Lerner/Hendrix), but the songs are presented in styles true to the original. I can imagine George and Ira and Jimi all listening and saying yeah - yeah that s about right .There are lots of special moments on this CD that I listen to over and over, such as Patti s intro to They Can t Take That Away From Me and Tuck s seamless bridge in the Hendrix. They are at their best on this CD when interpreting other s music, though, as the original compositions (there are two) are not the strongest.Recording quality is very good, although Patti s voice ....

OAKLAND, Calif. - COVID-19 financially crippled many hundreds of Bay Area arts-and-entertainment performers over the past year.
The starving musicians category swelled exponentially, for example, because many lacked digital skills needed to overcome gig loss triggered by in-person venues closing.
Noteworthy exceptions exist, however. Pianist-singer Mike Greensill, widower who lives in St. Helena (after years in San Francisco with his wife, singer Wesla Whitfield), draws roughly 1,000 viewers each Monday, Wednesday and Friday to his livestreams on Facebook. ....

I first saw samite on t.v. at Christmas time and was so impressed with his music I had to go out and order it the next day. It s one of my all time favorit c.d.s. Everyone that has listened to it wants it. I drive an 18 wheeler across the desert and I can t leave without this disc. It s therapeutic for my soul. The blend of exotic and traditional instruments along with his voice is fantastic. And that s my final answer! jented
