It was the second defeat in six months for a package that would have generated $95 million for the district for building projects to address enrollment growth, as well as related athletic facilities upgrades.
Had it passed, it would have cost homeowners within the district s attendance boundaries $101.50 annually per $100,000 of home value – or $8.46 a month, per $100,000 home value – according to Ryan Jenkins, district treasurer.

When Democrats head to the polls for the May 18 primary, they will have to narrow the selection of 13 candidates down to four.
The candidates are Vishal Bajpai, Lori Ann Beamer-Saulisbury, Roy Christ, Shamaine Daniels, Crystal Davis, Carrie Fowler, Sarah Gethers, Ausha N. Green, Lavet Henderson, Jennie Jenkins-Dallas, Robert Lawson, Jocelyn Rawls and Ralph Rodriguez.

Harrisburg residents are invited to meet candidates for city council and magisterial district judge seats this Saturday in an outdoor event hosted by CATCH.
The event is the second in a series by the group, Concerned About The Children of Harrisburg. It is set for 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday May 8 in a parking lot at 100 N. Cameron Street in Harrisburg.
Residents are asked to bring their own lawn chairs to hear directly from candidates and ask questions. Floyd Stokes will serve as moderator.
“Our intent is to engage voters more in the local election process as those are the elections that impact us more,” said Kia Hansard, one of the founders of CATCH.

It might be a tough choice, but the candidates faced off in a virtual debate Wednesday night to give residents a better idea of who they are, where they stand on the issues, and why they should be on city council to help carry Pennsylvania’s capital into the future.
Of the 13 candidates, 12 participated in the debate – Vishal Bajpai, Roy Christ, Shamaine Daniels, Crystal Davis, Carrie Fowler, Sarah Gethers, Ausha N. Green, Lavet Henderson, Jennie Jenkins-Dallas, Robert Lawson, Jocelyn Rawls and Ralph Rodriguez. Lori Ann Beamer-Saulisbury did not participate.
