At least 70 MBBS students staying at the Osmania Medical College hostel, Koti, suffered from food poisoning, and of them, 30 were admitted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment.
The students had consumed food provided by a private caterer on the campus. Condition of the 30 medicos was stable and they were expected to be discharged on Wednesday.
The medicos started falling ill on Saturday and the college administration learnt about their condition on Sunday. Some of them developed fever and diarrhoea. When their condition did not improve on Monday, they were shifted to the hospital. ....

The task force of behavioural scientists created to support the government with studies on the pandemic promises commitment to rebuilding the health of the Portuguese and is very confident in the mission, said its coordinator to Lusa.

Hyderabad: Telangana Diagnostics labs for pathological tests will be set up in 19 more districts of Telangana by March-end.
These labs shall provide facilities for complete blood testing (CBT), liver and kidney performance tests for free. Citizens can avail free diagnostic services such as X-ray, ECG, MRI, ultrasound, and CT scan.
These labs shall be working on the hub and spoke model. ....

The coronavirus pandemic could have been contained if the authorities in Wuhan had notified the World Health Organization earlier and allowed an expert team to investigate in December 2019, according to Dr Chen Chien-jen, Taiwan’s former vice-president and health minister who made his name during the SARS [Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome] outbreak nearly 20 years ago.
“Transparency and openness is very important for the containment of infectious diseases,” Dr Chen told Al Jazeera in an interview. “If the situation in Wuhan was very well reported to the World Health Organisation and the WHO organised a team and went to Wuhan in mid-December 2019, I think the disease could have been contained and no other countries would have suffered.” ....
