Basingstoke Magistrates Court.
An Oakridge man has been given a fine after he drove through Hook at more than double the speed limit. Mariusz Nosarzewski, of Westray Close, was driving his Mercedes-Benz on the A30 London Road through the village at 70 miles per hour in December 2019. The speed limit for that section of the road is 30 miles per hour. The 38-year-old had originally admitted the offence, but changed his plea when appearing at Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court in October last year. He was convicted by magistrates on Monday. Nosarzewski was given a £300 fine and six points on his driving licence. Additionally, he was ordered to pay costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £32.
