Updated: 4:24 PM CST Jan 15, 2021 KMBC 9 News Staff The Platte County Health Department’s Board of Trustees adopted a new public health order Friday, allowing restaurants, taverns, and other food and drink venues to remain open until 12 a.m.The order is a change from the previous Platte County Order, which required such venues to close at 10 p.m. The new also order allows drive-thru service, curbside pickup and delivery of food to continue after midnight.Platte County’s new order is consistent with orders in other areas across the Kansas City metro area.The City of Kansas City and the Missouri counties of Clay, Jackson and Platte, as well as the Kansas counties of Johnson and Wyandotte now require food and drink venues to close at 12 a.m. “While the rate of COVID-19 cases confirmed in the last 14 days in Platte County remains high, the board made the decision to make the change so that restaurants and taverns in the county are on a level playin ....
