Havre Daily News staff Hi-Line Art Association and Downtown Havre Matters! had a successful premiere event at Havre s Art Alley Saturday, with hundreds of people coming to partake in music and art. Grant Olson of Hi-Line Art Association said at 6:30 p.m. he was guessing about 500 people had been to the event by that time, with it scheduled to continue to 8 p.m. The alley, between Second and Third streets and Third and Fourth avenues, is the inspiration of Downtown Havre Matters!, which has cleaned up the alley and strung lights to create an area to hold events.

Press release The Hi-Line Arts Council recently announced the organization’s inaugural “Art Alley Spring Celebration” event, scheduled for Saturday, April 17, from 3-8 p.m. The event is designed to introduce Havre and the Hi-Line to the recently designated “Art Alley,” located in downtown Havre between Second and Third Streets and Third and Fourth Avenues. The east entrance of the alley begins between Helmbrecht Studio and Crawford Distillery. The Havre City Council has approved the closure of Fourth Avenue between Second and Third Streets, in addition to the alley, for the event.

Havre’s Art Alley is a reality! Following the completion of the mural project in September of 2019, which culminated in the colorful artwork that adorns the west side of the Hill County Printing building, the work of the local volunteer Havre Main Street Group continued. The next project was developing an art alley in downtown Havre. The chosen alley was between Second and Third streets and Third and Fourth avenues, or the alley behind several downtown businesses, including Havre Home Center and Cavaliers. But why an Art Alley? And why in Havre? To attract visitors downtown, to add some.
